The health of
our Oceans
begins at the microscopic level
The Shared Sea Dress
A seed for ocean transformation
Our oceans are under increasing pressure
Our oceans are under increasing pressure from eutrophication, pollution, chemicals, and microfibres released from textiles.
Yet at the heart of every marine ecosystem lies a world we can barely see. Microscopic organisms, including cyanobacteria, are essential drivers of ocean ecosystems, and among the first to respond when environmental conditions begin to change.
Cyanobacteria:
Small life, big impact
Indicators:
When change occurs
Microfibers:
Invisible pollution
The Shared Sea Dress
Our journey has already begun. In 2025, we created a dress coloured with pigments derived from the microscopic life of the sea — demonstrating how aquatic research, biotechnology, design, and fashion can come together to tell a new story about our relationship with the ocean.
Over the next five years, our goal is to develop an entire circular collection coloured with ocean-based pigments.
The collection will become the foundation for an international travelling fashion and lecture experience, moving between ocean regions, scientific forums, cultural institutions, and other platforms around the world.
By bringing science out of the laboratory and into spaces where people can see, experience, and engage with it, we want to spark conversations, share knowledge, and accelerate the transformative change needed for the future of our oceans.
LOGGOR / NAMN / WHY
Healthy oceans begin with what we cannot see. Transformative change begins with what we choose to do next.
We are looking for funders, research and project partners, cultural institutions, innovators, and organisations who want to help take this work further.
