Let nature lead &

let us learn from her

Envision a colourful planet, never at the expense of nature

Colour is a way to communicate, bringing vitality, diversity and inclusiveness to our lives.

Through textile design, colour evokes emotion and expression, carrying the stories we build around ourselves.

In nature, colour runs deeper. It is rhythm and evolution of ecosystems. Constantly adapting and transforming as a living expression of life.

Today, the way we dye textiles comes at a significant environmental cost. Textile dyeing is one of the most polluting and energy-intensive stages in the fashion and textile industry. Driven by the demand for colours made from synthetic, fossil-based dyes, the process releases billions of litres of toxic wastewater into the environment every year. These dyes persist in nature, resist biodegradation, and accumulate in rivers and soils. This reflects a broader issue – the human tendency to control and fix what should naturally evolve, at the expense of nature’s own adaptability.

Dyeing a pair of jeans can cost about one Euro – less than a cup of coffee. The real price?

Toxic wastewater. Polluted oceans. Dying ecosystems.

This is the reality MOUNID is working to change.

We believe in bio-based, non-toxic dyes designed to work in harmony with nature’s ecosystems and a circular textile industry – driving the transition toward a thriving bio-based economy.

That's why we are creating dyes from pigments born in water – developed for scale, safe for people and the planet.

Thanks to the technical developments carried out by MOUNID experts using algae pigments for textiles, we will pioneer algae dyes for denim, starting with our first blue dye OCEANid.

We are convinced that colour shall be;

  • In rythm with nature, yet responsive to the world

  • Diverse by design, balanced by choice

  • Expressive and bold, still responsible at heart

By producing colours that harmonise with nature, elevate creative design and support responsible production – our mission is creating a colour revolution born in water, for a healthy, colourful planet.
